Captain James cook was born October 2tth, 1728. He was an English explorer, navigator and cartographer. Cook sailed on three voyages to
the Pacific Ocean, and recorded many coastlines and islands on European Maps. His claim to fame was the discovery of the East Coast of Australia, New Zeland, Tahiti and the Islands of Hawaii. Cook
died in Hawaii in a fracas with Hawaiians during his third voyage
in the Pacific in 1779.
